What areas does JL Construction & Remodeling serve?
We're based in Oregon, Ohio and serve 39 communities across Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky and Fulton counties. That includes Toledo, Northwood, Perrysburg, Maumee, Sylvania, Rossford, Genoa, Port Clinton, Bowling Green and Fremont.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Every project starts with a free on-site visit and a detailed written quote covering scope, materials and schedule. There's no obligation and no pressure.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. We handle permits wherever the city, village, township or county requires them, and we schedule the inspections. You won't have to deal with the building department yourself.
Can you handle my whole project, or just one trade?
Both. We do full remodels, additions and new construction from start to finish, coordinating licensed electrical, plumbing and HVAC partners. We also take on single-trade jobs like roofing, siding, flooring, decks and repairs.
Do you work with insurance on storm or water damage?
Yes. We document the damage with photos and measurements, prepare a detailed repair scope and can meet with your adjuster. Coverage decisions are up to your insurer, but we make the process easier.
Do you work on commercial and rental properties?
Yes. We handle commercial remodels, tenant build-outs and rental property turnovers for businesses, landlords and property managers across the Toledo area.
How long does a typical remodel take?
It depends on scope. Small bathroom updates can take one to two weeks, full kitchens often take several weeks, and additions or whole-home renovations take longer. Your written quote includes a realistic timeline for your project.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily. Many clients give us access and check in at the end of the day. We'll agree on access, working hours and communication before we start.
How do payments work?
Payment terms are spelled out in your written quote before any work begins. Larger projects are usually billed in stages tied to project milestones.
Can I buy my own materials or fixtures?
Often, yes. We'll go over product specs with you ahead of time to make sure everything fits and meets code, and we'll note any owner-supplied items in the quote.
Do you help with design and material selection?
Yes. We help with layouts, material and finish selections, and budget trade-offs. For larger projects we coordinate with designers, architects or engineers as needed.
