Hardwood is a material that rewards careful installation. Boards that go down too wet or too dry, over a bouncy subfloor, or without expansion space will cup, gap or buckle. We check moisture content in both the wood and the subfloor, correct flat spots and squeaks, and plan layout so boards run in the right direction and rooms line up at doorways. We can also weave new boards into existing floors when you are opening up walls or replacing a damaged section.

Is engineered hardwood as good as solid?
Quality engineered hardwood is real wood on top and is more dimensionally stable than solid boards, which helps with Ohio's humidity swings. Solid wood can be refinished more times over its life. The better choice depends on the room, the subfloor and how long you plan to stay. We walk through both during your estimate.
Can you put hardwood in a kitchen?
Yes, and many Toledo-area homeowners do. Hardwood handles normal kitchen use well if spills are wiped up promptly. A durable finish and good mats at the sink help. If you have a history of leaks or a very busy household, we may suggest engineered wood or a wood-look LVP instead.
How long should hardwood acclimate before installation?
It depends on the product and the conditions in your home. We bring the flooring in, let it adjust with the HVAC running, and take moisture readings on both the boards and the subfloor. We install when the numbers are within the manufacturer's recommended range rather than on a fixed number of days.
Can you match my existing hardwood floors in Oregon or Toledo?
Usually. Most older Northwest Ohio homes have red or white oak in common widths, which we can source and weave in. Matching stain color on an older floor often works best when the whole connected area is refinished together, so new and old boards blend.
