Can you add a porch roof to my existing house?
Usually, yes. We design the porch roof to tie into your existing roof or wall with proper framing, flashing and drainage. The pitch and style are chosen to look like part of the original home. A permit and inspections are typically required, which we handle.
Should I repair or replace my old porch?
If rot is limited to boards, steps or a column, a repair may be enough. If the beams, joists, footings or roof structure are compromised, rebuilding is usually safer and more economical. We inspect the whole porch and give you a clear recommendation.
What materials hold up best on a porch in Northwest Ohio?
Composite or PVC decking, fiberglass or wrapped columns and PVC trim resist moisture and rot better than untreated wood.
