Is a sagging floor dangerous?
Not always, but it should be evaluated. Some sag comes from long-term deflection and is mostly cosmetic, while other cases involve rot, cracked members or failing supports that get worse. We inspect the framing below and recommend whether reinforcement is needed now or can be planned.
Can sagging floors be leveled?
Often they can be improved significantly. Floors that have sagged for decades are usually jacked up gradually to avoid cracking walls and finishes, then supported with new beams, posts or sistered joists. Perfectly level may not be realistic in every older home, but we set expectations clearly up front.
