How long does flooring installation take?
Most single rooms are finished in a day or two once materials are on site. A whole main floor typically runs several days, and tile takes longer because thinset and grout need time to cure. Hardwood and some LVP products also need to acclimate indoors before installation. We give you a realistic schedule with your written quote so you can plan around it.
Can you install new flooring over my existing floor?
Sometimes. Floating LVP or laminate can go over sound, flat vinyl or tile in some cases, which saves on tear-out. But if the old floor is loose, cushioned, uneven or raises the height too much at doors and cabinets, removal is the better move. We check the existing floor and subfloor before recommending either approach.
What flooring works best in a basement in the Toledo area?
Below-grade slabs around Toledo and Oregon often carry some moisture, so we usually recommend waterproof LVP or porcelain tile rather than solid hardwood. We moisture-test the slab first and add a vapor barrier or underlayment where needed. If there is active water coming in, we address that before any finished flooring goes down.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Rooms need to be empty for installation. Many homeowners handle small items and valuables themselves, and we can talk through help with larger pieces during the estimate. Planning the sequence room by room also lets you keep part of the house usable while we work.
