What's the difference between a three-season room and a four-season sunroom?
A three-season room is built for spring, summer and fall use, typically with less insulation and no central heating. A four-season sunroom is insulated and conditioned like the rest of your home and uses energy-efficient windows, so it stays comfortable in winter. Four-season rooms cost more but are usable year-round.
Can you enclose my existing deck or porch?
Often, yes. We first inspect the framing, footings and ledger connection to confirm it can carry walls, windows and a roof. Many older decks need added footings or reinforcement. If the structure isn't suitable, we'll recommend rebuilding the base so the sunroom is safe and lasts.
Will a sunroom be too hot in summer?
Orientation, glass selection and ventilation make a big difference. Low-E glass, operable windows, ceiling fans and roof overhangs help control heat. For four-season rooms, a ductless mini-split is a common solution. We plan for Northwest Ohio's humid summers so the room stays comfortable.
